Terms of use
Draft — to be reviewed by a lawyer before launch. This page is a placeholder and is not yet our final policy.
The rules for senders, travellers and receivers using Carryam4me.
Last updated: [date]. These terms are between you and [company name], [registered address], registered in England and Wales under company number [number].
What Carryam4me does
Carryam4me connects people sending parcels from the UK to Nigeria (senders) with verified people already flying that route (travellers), and the people collecting them (receivers). We are not a courier or airline: travellers carry parcels as part of their own personal luggage.
Accounts and ID checks
- You must be 18 or over and sign in with a mobile number you control.
- Senders, travellers and receivers must each pass an ID check before a parcel moves.
- [Lawyer to add account suspension and closure terms.]
Prices and payment
- The traveller earns £10 per kg, with a £25 minimum per parcel.
- Our fee is £10 or 15% of the traveller's earnings, whichever is higher, and never more than £25.
- Item cover up to £150 costs £2.
- The app shows your exact price before you pay, and that price is locked when you choose a traveller.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We hold your payment until the receiver confirms delivery on video.
Refusals, refunds and disputes
- Travellers open and check every item at handoff and may refuse any parcel. If they do, you get your money back except a £3 refusal charge.
- If something is missing or damaged at unboxing, the receiver reports it in the app. The payment stays held while our team compares the evidence from both ends, then we refund the sender, pay the traveller, or split the amount.
- [Lawyer to confirm cover terms, claim limits and timescales.]
Payouts to travellers
Travellers are paid after the receiver confirms delivery: to a UK bank account through Stripe, or to a naira account through Paystack. [Lawyer to add payout timing, tax responsibility and fees.]
Prohibited items
Senders must declare everything in a parcel, and must never send:
- Medicines, pills or anything prescription
- Powders, herbs or loose substances
- Liquids, creams or anything in sealed bottles
- Cash, cards or gold
- Food that cannot be opened and checked
- Anything wrapped, sealed or that cannot be seen inside
- Anything illegal to carry out of the UK or into Nigeria, including drugs, weapons, counterfeit goods and anything an airline does not allow in checked luggage
- Goods for resale or in more than personal quantities
[Lawyer to check against UK export, Nigerian customs and airline rules.]
Meetups and safety
Handoffs happen in busy, public places agreed in the app. Keep all communication and payment inside Carryam4me.
