What we collect when you send, carry or receive a parcel with Carryam4me, why, and who we share it with.
Last updated: [date]. Carryam4me is operated by [company name], [registered address], registered in England and Wales under company number [number]. We are the data controller for the information described here.
What we collect
- Your mobile number. You sign in with a one-time code sent by text message. We use your number to sign you in and to send updates about your parcel or trip.
- Your name and profile. Other people on a delivery see only your first name and the initial of your last name. They never see your phone number.
- The outcome of your ID check. Identity checks are carried out by our provider, Didit, using your photo ID or NIN and a selfie. We keep the outcome of the check (passed or not, and when) and the name on your ID, so we can check it against your flight ticket. Your ID documents are held by Didit, and our team looks at them only when needed to resolve a problem; every such view is logged.
- Travellers' flight tickets. The e-ticket or itinerary you upload for a trip, and the details read from it (passenger name, booking reference, flights and dates). An AI service reads the ticket so we can compare it with your trip and your ID; our checking team then confirms it. Tickets are kept in private storage, seen only by that team, and every view is logged. Senders only see that your ticket was checked and the flight number.
- Parcel details. What you declared you are sending, its weight, the route, the meetup place and the receiver's name.
- Delivery evidence. Videos and photos taken at handoff in the UK and at unboxing in Nigeria, and the weights recorded at both ends. These are kept in private storage, shown only to the people on that delivery and to our support team, and never made public.
- Messages. Chat between sender, traveller and receiver about a delivery, kept so we can help if something goes wrong.
- Payment and payout records. Amounts, dates and status. We do not see or store your full card number.
How we use it
- To match parcels with travellers and run each delivery.
- To keep everyone safe: ID checks, evidence at both ends and resolving disputes.
- To take payments, hold them until delivery, and pay travellers.
- To meet our legal obligations, including fraud prevention and record keeping.
[Lawyer to confirm the lawful basis for each use under UK GDPR and the Nigeria Data Protection Act.]
Who we share it with

- Stripe and Paystack send payouts to travellers in the UK and Nigeria.
- Didit carries out ID checks.

- The other people on your delivery, limited to what they need (for example, first name and initial).
- Police or regulators, where the law requires it.
We never sell your data.
How long we keep it
[Retention periods to be confirmed, including how long delivery evidence videos and photos are kept after a delivery or dispute closes.]
